Liberty Methodist Church receives "Top Dog" honor by the Quitman Independent School District for coming to the district to solve problems. Liberty presented the district with a check for over $5,000, proceeds from the fall bazaar, to assist the at-risk students of all schools (food pantry, clothing closets, etc.)

Anger is a character of the eternal God, and it is one evidence of a healthy personality. But it must be a disciplined emotion, harnessed and carefully directed against evil wherever it is found. Jesus was angry with those who were content for evil things to remain as they were. Jesus was also angry with those who would not pray when they came to God’s House. Jesus was angry with those who tied all their religion to a building and to religious rituals.

“Choose this day whom you will serve” is the call we hear again and again. The call includes putting away the many other gods that would distract us from following the only TRUE GOD! Fry’s ordination there were some special members at home working on the new electronic church sign! John and Priscilla Massey led a group of 17 Christmas carolers - including Donna and Dean Benge - through the halls of Autumn Wind in Winnsboro on Christmas Eve. They entertained about 40 residents at their doorways as they walked through the facility, and all the senior citizens involved seemed to thoroughly appreciate all the attention.

“Tips for Tots” benefitted the Wood County Child Protection Board
First Methodist Church, Liberty Methodist Church along with other organizations that support the Wood County Child Protection Board packed AJ’s Fish House at Lake Fork. From 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm all enjoyed an amazing buffet while being served by “celebrity” waiters. From First Church Sam Scroggins and Bill Hedges waited on tables. All tips and monies earned from auctioned items supported the Wood County Protection Board
Sunday, July 31, 2022 John 13:12-17
Joseph Goodson, First United Methodist Youth Ministry Coordinator, preached about “Lights On or Off?” in the church. He believes that the lights are on when we worship in fellowship but need to be off when we leave the building to serve others in out community. The service opened with a beautiful slide show of the youth serving the community of Frankston. The congregation enjoyed the youth participating throughout the service from reading of the Apostles’ Creed to the Lord’s Prayer. At the end of the service all enjoyed looking at the pictures of the youth worshiping and serving this summer. Thank you Chuck Holt for subbing for Carolyn and Malynn Brown who brought down the house with two renditions of “Victory in Jesus!”

Last Sunday School (2-13-22) we heard about Crafty Christians from Anita Nance and a brief intro of Christ for India by Jerry Price and Sager-Brown (UMCOR Supply Depot) in Louisiana by Ann Flake.
